An invitation to pause, to breathe, and to trust the direction that unfolds when we slow down.
Detour – Slow Down, Find the Way continues the series inspired by a time in Auckland when roadworks reshaped familiar paths and routines. During this period, I chose to respond creatively rather than with frustration, exploring the idea of detours not just as disruptions, but as meaningful redirections.
The arrows and road symbols reflect a gentle reminder to slow down — both in driving and in life. What may seem like delay or inconvenience can become an opportunity to observe, reflect, and rediscover direction. The first piece in this theme found a home quickly, and this work was created as a continuation of that idea.
It speaks to the moments when life asks us to pause, to adjust, and to trust that even unexpected paths can lead us forward. In slowing down, we often find clarity — and a deeper understanding of where we are meant to go.
